Flavor Flav has learned that many members of the U.S. Women’s Water Polo Team need to work several jobs to make their Olympic dreams come true, and he’s pledged to do something about it.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday (May 4), the Public Enemy hypeman pledged to support the team and their ambitions for the gold medal.

“The US Women’s Waterpolo team has won the GOLD MEDAL THREE OLYMPICS IN A ROW,,, these women should not have to be working 2-3 side jobs to be able to compete,” he wrote in the post. “FLAVOR FLAV promises to sponsor/support captain Maggie Steffens the US Women’s Waterpolo team,,, GO #TeamUSA”

In recent years, Flavor Flav has become known more for his activism than his music.

In May 2023, as the Hollywood labor strikes were raging on, Flavor Flav supported the WGA by delivering pizzas to hungry picketers.0

The Public Enemy hypeman joined the picket line on May 18, showing up at Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, California where fellow stars Quinta Brunson and Jason Sudeikis were also there to support.

“Glad to be here, glad to support. I got ya’ll back,” Flav said. It was also reported he brought along 25 Prince Street pizzas, 100 burgers from Irv’s Burgers, and Liquid Death Water.

And it was only right he briefly performed Public Enemy’s protest anthem, “Fight the Power.”

More recently, the multi-instrumentalist (real name William Drayton) showed his support to Jelly Roll after the musician claimed he was “bullied” off of social media.

On an episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, the Tennessee native’s wife Bunnie XO explained why the rapper and singer is no longer on the internet.

“My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his fucking weight, and that makes me want to cry, because he is the sweetest angel baby,” she said. “My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.

Soon after the news began making the rounds online, the Public Enemy veteran took to X (formerly Twitter) with a minute-long video sharing how much he loved his peer while expressing his frustration at the bullies who drove him offline.
