EST Gee continues to deal with personal tragedy as one of his artists has reportedly been killed, just weeks after the murder of his manager.

According to Baller Alert, rapper EST Lu Mike was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 11) in Gee’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Baxter Avenue at around 1:45 a.m., where they discovered a male victim dead at the scene, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department said.

Another wounded man was rushed to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead after attempts to save his life. A third man injured in the shooting was also hospitalized and is expected to survive.

Police have yet to identify a suspect in the case. EST Gee has also yet to publicly comment on Lu Mike’s death.

The shooting also comes just days after Mike previewed an unreleased song on Instagram which finds him taunting an unnamed rival with lyrics like: “Everytime these n-ggas slip then we gon’ do ’em dirty / I’m into purgin’, ain’t nothing little about this 30.”

The tragedy follows the death of EST Gee’s manager, EST Beach, who was shot and killed following the rapper’s homecoming concert in Louisville in late July.

31-year-old Beach was found dead at the scene in a vehicle near the KFC YUM! Centre after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to WLKY.

No suspects were immediately identified and it is not known if Beach was the target of the shooting.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, a shooting was reported by a member of the public in the early hours of July 21, with law enforcement arriving on the scene at around 1:30 a.m.

Beach was declared dead shortly afterwards by a medical team.

It was reported by local media outlet Wave3 that there were security concerns regarding the Summer Jam event, which also saw performances from Lil Baby42 DuggYo GottiIcewear Vezzo and more.

A spokesperson for the venue stated that enhanced security measures had been put in place for the event, which “effectively ensured a secure environment for everyone attending the concert.”

EST Gee’s former manager Eric Mosley was previously arrested by the FBI on drug trafficking charges, along with a number of other people associated with the CMG rapper.

Gee and Mosley were part of the alleged gang Everybody Shine Together, which has been accused of being heavily involved with criminal activity including violence and drugs.

Mosley faced a maximum sentence of life in prison if he was to be convicted.
