EARTHGANG just released their first independent album Perfect Fantasy, and it features appearances from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Pharrell and more.
Taking a page out of Tyler, The Creator’s book and dropping outside of the traditional Friday release date, the LP arrived to streaming services on Tuesday (October 29).

In addition to Snoop and Skateboard P, the 18-track effort also features Little Dragon, T-Pain, Eric Bellinger, Benji., Cochise, Tommy Newport and Rama.
“Perfect Fantasy is the ultimate summation of our ‘EarthGang vs. the Algorithm’ campaign,” the duo said in a statement. “If you think of our journey like a video game and the algorithm is the Boss, then this album would be our Boss Battle. Through soundscape, packaging, delivery and nuance we take a meta approach to the method of shattering the norms that harm the craft we love so dearly.”
They continued: “We got inspiration from our favorite singers, anime, musicians, and producers to provide a gallery of sounds for the special moments in life. We decided to say fuck the algorithm, break traditional rules, and create the music that inspired us to do what we love.”

Earlier this year, EARTHGANG was honored with their own day in their hometown of Atlanta during a fundraising event they held for their eponymous non-profit organization.
On April 27, Doctor Dot and Olu sponsored a 5K run for sustainable environmentalism near Piedmont Park. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta City Councilmember Marci Collier Overstreet declared the day “EarthGang Day” right after the run was complete.

“Moving into the space where not only being a participant but being a facilitator and conduit for bringing these experiences to people, where they don’t have to feel like they have to be a world-class athlete in order to move their bodies, in order to engage in something that’s healthy, and coupling it with your fanbase, is amazing,” Olu said to the outlet, in response to the honor.
“We come from Black people that have high blood pressure and diabetes, and things like that. You don’t wanna keep that going,” added Dot. “Now I’m seeing people that want to live longer.”
