Drake has undergone “last-minute treatment” of his ankle in order to prepare for his upcoming shows at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

The update comes after Drizzy pushed back the date of the shows twice. While the 6 God was meant to take the iconic Apollo stage last November, he delayed the show following the death of TakeOff. He then delayed the shows again until this January 21 and 22 due to “production delays.”

In a post on Instagram, Drake confirmed the shows were still on after undergoing what he called the “best” healthcare of his life at Atria in New York City.

“Thank you Atria NY for the best health care experience I have ever had,” Drake wrote alongside a carousel of photos. “Let’s see what I can do on this piece of shit ankle Saturday.”

Surprisingly this won’t be the first time Drake’s music has filled the halls of Apollo Theater. Lauryn Hill had previously performed a remix to his smash hit “Nice For What,” which samples her classic track “Ex-Factor,” during a concert at the venue back in 2018.

Drake also ushered in his Apollo weekend by introducing OVO Sound’s first female member to the world on Friday (January 20). Dutch/Caribbean singer Naomi Sharon was announced as the roster’s latest signee, and Drizzy celebrated her arrival with a candid Instagram post.

“@naomisharon I been waiting for this day for too long now where the world finally gets to digest the insane amount of work you have put in since we met,” he wrote. “My dear friend just dropped her single Another Life on OVO SOUND.”

Sharon thanked Drake on her Instagram Stories, writing: “Words cannot express how happy I am I can finally share this news with the world. And I cannot thank you enough for this insane opportunity.”

Noah “40” Shebib also praised the new OVO singer, writing in his own Instagram post: “@naomisharon I’m honoured to be a part of this journey. Im so proud of you and can’t wait for the world to hear the rest of what you’ve been working on. New music out NOW! @ovosound.”

Naomi Sharon joins the Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, dvsn, Popcaan, Majid Jordan, Roy Woods and Baka Not Nice on OVO Sound’s roster. Born in Rotterdam, the singer released her first single “The Moon” in 2019, with follow-up tracks “Breeze,” “Hills” and “Daughter of the Sun” each accumulating over two million streams on Spotify alone.

In other Drake news, the Toronto icon also released a new music video for his Her Loss cut “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” earlier this week, which saw him showcase over $3.3 million worth of Pharrell‘s jewelry.

Her Loss debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last November, moving roughly 404,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It has since surpassed over one million sales in the U.S. and over a billion streams on Spotify.
