Dr. Dre is determined to step up his involvement in the next Summer Olympics after helping to close the 2024 edition with a performance with Snoop Dogg — only in 2028, he wants to move from the stage to the field of play.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dre revealed that he wants to try out for the 2028 Olympics, which will take place in his native Los Angeles, in a surprising sport: archery.

“I’m dead-ass serious,” he told interviewer Nischelle Turner. “I actually started playing around with archery in junior high.
“I stopped for a while, and my son bought me a setup — I don’t know if was for my birthday or Father’s Day or something like that. So I have it set up in my backyard. I heard that qualifying for the Olympics is 77 feet, and I practice at 90. Wouldn’t that be interesting to go, especially with it being here in L.A., and win the gold medal?”

The producer concluded by saying, “I feel like I can do anything.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Dre upped the excitement for his and Snoop Dogg‘s forthcoming album Missionary by calling it “some of the best music” he’s ever made.
When asked about working on Missionary versus Snoop’s 1993 debut Doggystyle, which he also produced, Dre said: “It was much more fun, to be honest, because we were kids at that time. Snoop may have been 18 or 19 years old and I think I’m six years older than him, so we were kids at that time.
“This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career […] I’m not playing.”
He added: “The musicians I’m working with right now and some of the writers in the studio that are helping us… Snoop is really excited about this and so am I. I think people are gonna really enjoy this.”
