C-Knight, a West Coast rap pioneer and member of the group Dove Shack, is reportedly on life support, following a stroke.
TMZreported on Sunday (November 5) that the artist, real name Arnez Blount, was hospitalized on October 18 due to complications from diabetes. While receiving treatment, he reportedly suffered a stroke. The outlet says that C-Night’s heart stopped, and he was subsequently resuscitated and placed on life support.

Dove Shack member Bo-Roc shared a message about the situation on Instagram dated October 22, just four days after C-Knight’s hospitalization. (The group’s third member was rapper 2Scoops).
“I’m literally begging all who see’s this post to pray for my brother from another mother and one of my closest friends in the world Arnez a.k.a C Knight from the Dove Shack. He’s the founder of the Dove Shack and the reason I had the opportunity to make #summertimeinthelbc for the world so please please send him positive energy and healing prayers,” he wrote.

Dove Shack made their debut on Warren G‘s 1994 album Regulate… G Funk Era. The following year, the group had their biggest hit, “Summertime in the LBC.” The track, which appeared both on their debut album This Is the Shack album and the soundtrack to The Show, made it to no. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of November 4, 1995.
The group reunited for a project in 2006. C-Knight has one solo album, 2001’s Knight Time. As of this writing, TMZ has said it is not clear whether he has any brain activity.
Warren G has been in the news for other reasons lately as well. He recently addressed Suge Knight’s disparaging remarks about his relationship with 2Pac, with the G-funk pioneer standing by everything he’s said in the past.

On the debut episode of Collect Call With Suge Knight, which aired last month, the former Death Row Records head honcho brought up a Drink Champs interview from late August in which Warren G said he “was gonna try to bail [2Pac] out” of jail in 1995 but “got beat to the punch.”
“Warren G, best stop lying — you didn’t fuck with ’Pac and ’Pac didn’t fuck with you,” Knight said in response to the above claim. “On top of that, you couldn’t take care of yourself, how were you gonna get ’Pac out of prison? Everybody, all of a sudden, they want to get ’Pac out of prison …”
Responding to HipHopDX’s article about the above criticism in the comments section of its Instagram share, the Long Beach legend re-emphasized what he had previously said on the matter.
“It’s simple he beat me to the punch,” he wrote in a since-deleted comment. “I don’t have nothing against @officialsugeknight but don’t try to say how I was living I made him a lot of $ period Snoop, Dazz, Kurup, RBX, Natedogg, came through me.”

In a follow-up reply that has also been removed, he added: “Lol Suge is a funny guy. I wasn’t on Deathrow I was on Def Jam with the biggest hip hop single & a lot of $ I didn’t get a monthly salary I was buying 600 Benzes & houses taking care of family. so you ask who could take care of what.”
