DMX‘s 7-year-old son Exodus has paid tribute to the late Ruff Ryders legend by delivering a piano cover of one of X’s biggest hits.
The rapper’s fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, posted a heart-melting video on Instagram on Monday (December 18) — what would’ve been X’s 53rd birthday — of Exodus playing “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” on the keys.

“X Gon’ Give It To Ya” arrived in 2002 as the lead single from the soundtrack to Cradle 2 The Grave, which DMX starred in alongside Jet Li, Paige Hurd, Anthony Anderson and more.
It also appeared as a bonus track on the rapper’s Grand Champ album and greatest hits compilation The Definition of X: The Pick of the Litter.
Produced by Shatek, the rowdy anthem would go on to peak at No. 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since been certified double platinum.
DMX’s Cradle 2 the Grave co-star Paige Hurd actually asked him to be he adoptive godfather after she played his daughter in the 2003 action film, and he happily obliged.

On Father’s Day in 2016, Hurd surprised X by having his handwritten lyrics to her favorite X track, “Right/Wrong,” tattooed on her stomach. Fittingly, that song also landed on the Cradle 2 the Grave soundtrack.
DMX tragically passed away at the age of 50 in April 2021 from a drug-induced heart attack.
