DJ Premier has shared his condolences for rapper Broadway, a member of the Bronx group Strickly Roots, who passed away last week.

Premo took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday (September 7) to share an illustrated video of New York legends, which included Broadway, among many others. The clip was soundtracked by Eric B. and Rakim‘s “Juice (Know The Ledge).”

The legendary producer wasn’t the only one to pay tribute to the influential rapper. Desus Nice took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: “rip broadway from strickly roots. bx mc, valley legend.”

Broadway was 54 years old.

Just last month, Premier was among the many who mourned the death of another rap friend.

He, Fat JoeKid Capri and others from across the Hip Hop world offered up tribute to noted M.O.P. affiliate Foxx.

The news of Foxx’s death was revealed by Kid Capri in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“I went to the hospital to see you last night, what I saw had me walking out the room crying, a week ago or so,” the veteran DJ wrote. “you requested that people come see you before aug 2, that’s when you wanted to be taking off of the respirator, yesterday was aug 2nd, I would have had so much regret if I didn’t make it there, because today your gone.

“You was holding on last night after they took you off the machine, it was very hard to leave you behind in that hospital room to go home, knowing I will never see you again, but my memory of you will last forever, we grew up together a block away from each other, Kingsbridge terrace and Sedgwick ave, Home of hip hop! DJ Premier shared a lengthy tribute to Foxx alongside a throwback video of her rapping in a tour bus while on the road with Gang Starr.

“I’m hurt in more ways than one but your pain is gone now,” he said. “Even tho I saw you in the hospital Tuesday, it sucks to get that call. We all are gonna miss you so much but the fun times are documented in our souls. You were HardCore and Sweet at the same time. Would fuck up anybody that fronted on us or you.
