DJ Paul has recalled a time he flexed on Salma Hayek, but despite her being a fan, the gesture didn’t go over so well with the Latina actress.

In an interview with T-Pain’sNappy Boy Radio podcast, the Three 6 Mafia legend talked about his not-so-successful interaction with Hayek at a party.

“She got mad at me that night,” Paul began. “She got mad because I had on a lot of jewelry — you know, like
an $85,000 watch — and then she was like, ‘I’m a big fan, nice to meet you.’ This and that.

“I was just smiling, and she said, ‘You know you’re Black brothers in Africa are dying for these blood diamonds you’re wearing?’ And I said, ‘What?'”

When T-Pain’s co-host chimed in to say how rude it was that she just assumed Paul didn’t know where his diamonds were from, the Memphis native admitted that Hayek had got one over on him.

“She knew I didn’t check where they were from,” Paul said.

DJ Paul isn’t the first rap superstar to have a messy exchange with Salma Hayek. In 2020, the latter recalled the time she met Eminem for the first time after he had performed “Lose Yourself” at the 92nd Annual Academy Awards, and said it was a pretty awkward moment trying to get together for a picture.

“In these pictures it might look like Eminem and I are best friends, but what really happened is, as he was walking offstage and I was getting ready to walk onstage, I was so shocked to see him that I spilled water all over him,” Hayek admitted in an Instagram post. “If you examine our faces, I look mortified and he looks terrified of me.

“As I was trying to wipe it off I impulsively hugged him and I said ‘Nice to meet you Eminem- I’m a huge fan!’ because I am!…I was so disappointed that I made such a fool of myself in front of him…Eminem you’re the greatest!”

As for DJ Paul, the 46-year-old took a moment in February shout out the teammate duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis after fellow Los Angeles Laker Mo Bamba nicknamed them after Three 6 Mafia.
