DJ Khaled has long been regarded one of Hip Hop’s most motivational characters; therefore, it comes as no surprise he’d leave a lasting impression on Shannon Sharpe during a recent visit to his home.
On Thursday (July 27) the NFL Hall of Famer took to Twitter where he revealed he’s got some things he wants to get off his chest — and he wants to do it over a beat, backed by the Grammy Award-winning record producer.

“Pulled up to @djkhaled house and it’s safe to say I think I want to make music now,” began Sharpe. “I told him to take me straight to the studio and cut a beat on. I got some things I want to get off my chest! [talk, mic, level slider, laughing emoji]”
He then asked his fans: “What would my artist name be?”
“Uncle Sharpe, and the fan base can be called The Sharpies [laughing emoji],” one Twitter user suggested, while another added: “Shay Money [money bag emoji].”
As for what might be troubling Sharpe, fans have been speculating whether it was the undisclosed reason behind his sudden Undisputed exit or details surrounding where he’s headed next.
Last month, Sharpe reached a buyout agreement with Fox Sports for Undisputed and announced his departure from the network — along with his Club Shay Shay podcast — would go down at the conclusion of the 2023 NBA Finals that same month.

Though, it wasn’t long before new job offers began to roll in; one in particular from a fellow sports enthusiast and rapper, Cam’ron, who on multiple occasions has attempted to tap Sharpe for his sports talk showIt Is What It Is.

“Shannon, you definitely got a home here,” Killa said in an episode of his Ma$e co-hosted show. “Yo, listen my n-gga – come to It Is What It Is. N-gga, you know how much bread we get? And you could be you ‘cause we being us. Yo, shit would be wild, my n-gga. I’m telling you!”
He continued: “I know you got [your podcast] Club Shay Shay and I know you not just reaching the buyout without something else lined up. But think about it my n-gga, it makes mad sense. Mad sense.”
While Sharpe has not responded to Cam’s offer, that may be due to reports he’s entertaining other options. According to Deadline, it looks like Sharpe is going to join ESPN’s First Take.
“I want Shannon Sharpe on First Take and I am to get him,” said the show’s star, Stephen A. Smith, on his podcast, before revealing that ESPN is in negotiations with the former superstar tight end.
“We are definitely talking to Shannon Sharpe,” said Smith. “The conversations are official, the reports have not been misnomers or misreports or anything like that. We are talking to him and I’m hopeful, very hopeful, very confident that ultimately we will be announcing sooner than later that he will be on First Take.”

In response to a tweet from Smith teasing the show, Sharpe did not deny or confirm the hearsay but kept his cards close to his chest, while revealing he’s open to chatting further about the potential of joining ESPN.
“Whatcha addressing on Fri?” Sharpe wrote on Twitter. “I’ve got some free time so feel free 2 FT me b4 my meetings.”
