Diddy Accused Of Giving Conway The Machine Song To His Son King Combs: 'Puff Will Do That'

Diddy has been accused of blocking a sample request from Conway The Machine but then clearing it for his own son instead.

Producer and record executive Hitmaka made the allegations during an interview on Shade 45 with Superstar Jay.

The veteran beatsmith, formerly known as Yung Berg, began by explaining how he produced the song “Naughty” for Boosie Badazz before Puffy pulled some strings behind the scenes so his son King Combs could have the track.

“No disrespect to Christian [Combs] because we got a bunch of other records that went crazy too [but] I love Boosie’s version more,” Hitmaka said. “Puff called Craig Kallman [CEO of Atlantic Records] and was like, ‘No, I need that record.’ And Craig calls me like, ‘What did you do to Diddy?!'”

Superstar Jay then referenced an unreleased Conway The Machine track called “Can’t You Be” which sampled Total and The Notorious B.I.G.‘s 1995 hit “Can’t You See.”

Hitmaka proceeded to explain how the song was taken from Conway and cleared for Christian: “Puff will do do that, though … The Conway situation, I ended sampling a Diddy song and he wouldn’t clear the record for us. He wouldn’t clear the record for nobody except his son. That’s why Christian Combs got that record too.”

HipHopDX has reached out to Diddy’s team for comment but has not yet received a response.

This isn’t the first time that Hitmaka has accused Diddy of interfering with his work. During a recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, the producer detailed Puffy’s “diabolical” efforts to sabotage his career after the Bad Boy boss took issue with beats he submitted for The Love Album: Off the Grid.

“Puff hit me, he like, ‘Yo, I’m doing an R&B album, I need you, you the guy. It’s gonna be London on Da Track, you and me and I think we should do everything together. Send me some joints,’” he recalled.

“I send him a 10 clip, crazy shit. He hit me back like, ‘I want that [Yung] Berg shit, stop trying to be me. It sound like you trying to do what I do, n-gga. Send me some different shit.’”

He continued: “So I didn’t send him nothing. I was like, ‘Fuck it.’ Next thing I know, the n-gga deciphered my records and reached out to everybody I collaborated with and dissected me from the situation.

“So he called Cardiak to his house like, ‘You need to be one of The Hitmen.’ Next thing, Eric Bellinger is in the Bahamas with muthafuckin’ Puff and they’re singing songs together.”

The multi-platinum producer alleged that Puff’s issues with him date back to the late 2000s when the Harlem-bred mogul turned his production partner Rob Holladay against him.

“When I was a kid, when I had ‘Sexy Lady’ and all them songs, he called me to Daddy’s House and was like, ‘Man, who’s producing your records?’” he remembered. “I’m like, ‘Me and my brother Rob Holladay. I signed him, he’s doing this shit with me.’

“Next thing I know he signed Rob Holladay. Put that n-gga on jets and turned the n-gga against me, had him stop working with me and all type of shit. So this is a recurring type of thing.”
