Danny Brown has shared his views on “white boy rappers” and went a step further by revealing his top picks.

In a new episode of Drink Champs, the rapper was prompted to pick between white rappers like Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly before revealing who he thinks is deserving of the top spot.

“Come on man. Y’all trying to be funny now,” he responded when asked to pick between his fellow Detroit native and MGK.

“I mean of course it’s going to be Em. I mean, we wouldn’t get an MGK if it weren’t for Em. You know? Weren’t no white boys coming around, you know?,” he added citing Third Base, Vanilla Ice, Milk Bone, and the Beastie Boys as predecessors.

“I mean, my favorite white boy rapper is El-P [of Run The Jewels], so…” he added as N.O.R.E. chimed in naming Em his favorite white boy rapper of all time.

Elsewhere in the interview, Danny revisited his very first encounter with multifaceted artist Pharrell Williams admitting he likely walked away from the situation weirded out.

“I seen him one time and I think I probably weirded him out because I couldn’t stop following him around,” he began, speaking of meeting Pharrell at the [56:00 mark]. “But, it was by mistake,” he added with a laugh.

“Cuz he just had an aura around him.  It was like a glow. I wasn’t meaning to do it. I couldn’t ‘t stop myself. It was like I was just drawn to the n-gga man.

“Everywhere he went I was like damn I’m going there too. It was like an I don’t know a kindred spirit or something. I can’t explain it. I couldn’t stop following the n-gga around,” he continued.

“I couldn’t stop following the n-gga. I know he was like ‘What the fuck wrong with this n-gga?’ But, I couldn’t stop following the n-gga man,” he concluded emphasizing once more “I wasn’t doing it on purpose.”

Danny’s Drink Champs appearance follows news of the rapper embarking on a North America tour showcasing hits from his updated catalog across 24 shows in 34 days. The tour spans cities like Chicago, Portland, Los Angeles, and Phoenix, culminating in Nashville, Tennessee on April 14th.
