Dame Dash has hit back at N.O.R.E.‘s claim that he never paid him for work that he did on his movies and soundtracks.

Issues between the pair began when Dash claimed that during his 2020 appearance on Drink Champs, he was pressured by N.O.R.E. to drink Cîroc, the vodka previously associated with Diddy which he suspects was spiked en masse to turn Hip Hop “gay.”

The “Superthug” rapper responded on his aforementioned podcast, by saying: “I don’t want to respond with disrespect, but I’m gonna let you know that I’m not gonna be disrespected. The fact that you keep taking these little fake shots, it’s corny, bro. I have nothing to do with that shit.

“If we’re supposed to be Black and excellent, I’ve never got paid for not one of these movies that I’ve done. I’ve never got paid for not one of these soundtracks that I’ve done. So where is this ‘real CEO’ shit that has been brewing?

He added: “I do not want to start this off by disrespecting a person that I actually respect, but I gotta address you if you addressing me multiple times.”

Speaking on a live Q&A with former Roc-A-Fella A&R Big Face Gary on Thursday (November 28), Dame Dash hit back at N.O.R.E. by downplaying his cameo in Paid in Full and taking issue with him airing his grievances on a public platform.

Paid in Full, he was in it for four seconds, and I made that part up,” he began. “But the bottom line is, if he felt that way, why does he wait until he gets on a television show to say that? It’s ridiculous. When someone shows up in someone’s video, as a friend, you think they charge ’em?”

Dame also claimed that he helped out the former rapper with his label issues when he was signed to Def Jam in the 2000s, but didn’t ask for any payment in return.

“When I made sure that he got his budget — because they were robbing him for his marketing budget — did I ask for a dollar?” he continued. “They weren’t giving him money for marketing, but I knew how many records he sold so I knew how much they were supposed to give him. So I said, ‘Call me when you’re there. Don’t tell them I’m coming.’ Pause.

“He called me, I went up there, barked on Lyor [Cohen], barked on Kev[in Liles]. I said, ‘You’re giving Mariah Carey his much? You gotta give that man this much.’ And walked out. And they gave him this much.”

The Harlem-bred mogul then snuck in a below-the-belt shot regarding N.O.R.E.’s relationship with JAY-Z: “This is really funny to me: the reason why I even put him in State Property 2 is because Jay didn’t want me to sign him.

“You’ll never see a picture with him and Jay or anything to do with Roc-A-Fella. So I was trying to make it where he was embraced in our Roc-A-Fella family by putting him in the movie.

“If he wanted some bread, he could’ve asked. I don’t even remember if he got paid or not. But I know that when I put his reggaeton records out and helped him, I didn’t talk to him about money then and I’m not worried about money now.”
