CyHi The Prynce has received props from a number of his rap peers including Pusha T and 2 Chainz thanks to his impressive new On The Radar freestyle.
The former G.O.O.D. Music rapper stopped by the popular platform on Tuesday (May 21) to fire off some fresh bars and reassert his status as one of Hip Hop’s most unsung spitters.

“What would all these rappers sound like if I turned the well off?/ I could never fail, even if I fell off/ The feds will be at my door if I wrote a tell-all/ If I ain’t worth the wait then your scale off,” he raps over a triumphant, Just Blaze-esque beat.
After a sudden beat switch to a smooth, Southern-fried soundbed reminiscent of ATLiens-era OutKast, CyHi delivers more slick rhymes like: “I was in the game, call it EA/ Still duckin’ the DA/ Since Pre-K, they hate to hear my name over the PA/ But you can hear me getting off the freeway.”

Fellow G.O.O.D. Music affiliate 2 Chainz added: “Pop it champ,” while The Game chimed in with: “The ghost,” referencing CyHi’s prolific songwriting résumé.
DJ Clark Kent also had high praise for the freestyle, writing: “FLAMES.”
The last fans heard from CyHi The Prynce was when he dropped EGOT the EP in 2022, which is a precursor to his forthcoming album, The Story of Mr. EGOT.
While that project doesn’t yet have a release date, the Georgia native has been teasing it for some time. It’ll serve as the follow-up to his 2017 debut LP No Dope On Sundays, which boasted appearances from Kanye West, Travis Scott, ScHoolboy Q, Pusha T and 2 Chainz, among others.

CyHi previously made headlines in February for some extra curricular reasons.
Having spent years in the studio with marquee artists like Kanye West and Travis Scott, he used that experience to boldly speculate about Eminem‘s creative process.
Appearing on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, CyHi shared some thoughts about Slim Shady in a clip that began with him saying that, in his opinion, Eminem is a “top five” rapper.
“With no ghostwriters,” interjected co-host Mecca, a comment that inspired CyHi to talk about the nature of inspiration.

“You think he ain’t have no ghostwriters?” CyHi asked. “Man, you ain’t sitting around 12 n-ggas just fucking smoking blunts. It’s called D12. It’s called Proof. It’s called all them n-ggas he grew up with.”
CyHi made clear, however, that he was not necessarily saying those people wrote bars for Eminem. Instead, he said that it was important for rappers to surround themselves with people who bring them “thoughts,” “ideas” and “experiences.”

Without that, he said, “I wouldn’t have nothing to rap about. That’s more important than actually making it rhyme, is having something to talk about. Because there’s a lot of n-ggas who can just rhyme and don’t be talking about shit.”
