“If I’m gonna get married, it’s to her. Simple as that,” he said after co-host Charlamagne Tha God quizzed him about the future of their relationship.
Common further gushed over his romance with the singer, actress and talk show host, saying: “This is definitely — with all due respect to all the women I’ve dated ’cause it’s all love — but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship.”

He also spoke highly of their mutual Chi-Town roots: “Having a lady from Chicago, that has allowed me to home and just be home. I hadn’t done that in a while where I was just going home and being around my loved ones and having no work to do.
“That helped me with this album [The Auditorium Vol. 1 with Pete Rock] because going to your roots, you gotta always recharge and plug in to them roots. I feel like that’s what I wanted to give to Chicago again.”
He added: “When you’re with somebody who’s from where you from, it’s a different kind of connection.”
Haddish, who dated Common between 2020 and 2021, had nothing but love for her former partner and expressed as much online.
Responding to an Instagram comment which said: “Well there he said it he wants to marry her he ain’t neva said that about no woman b4,” Haddish replied: “EXACTLY! I hope they actually get married.”

Common previously revealed that he and Haddish broke up after their relationship was challenged by conflicting schedules when COVID-19 restrictions began to ease.
“Once Tiffany and I got back on the move, it really didn’t allow for us to spend as much time and put as much energy into our relationship,” he explained in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked. “I don’t think the love really dispersed; I just think we weren’t feeding the relationship.”
He added: “I don’t want to be one foot in, one foot out. It wasn’t about anyone else or another relationship … It’s hard when the other person is working just as much [as you] to actually give time and love and nurturing to the relationship.”
Common went on to praise the actor and comedian: “Tiffany, for me, is one of the best people I’ve met in life — one of the best-hearted and most authentic and caring people that I’ve met. And that’s what made me love her and be in love with her and want to be in a relationship with her and grow with her.”
