Chlöe Bailey can’t wait for the world to see her little sister Halle star as Ariel in Disney’s forthcoming live adaptation of The Little Mermaid.
Appearing as a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show on Thursday (April 13), the older Bailey sister shared her heartwarming reaction to seeing her baby sis in the film’s trailer when it aired during the 2023 Oscars, as well as her excitement for others to see her in that light.

“I was screaming and I was crying,” Chlöe said. “I was just screaming because she is a real-life mermaid, a siren, graceful in all her beauty. And people get to see what I’ve always seen since we were little girls.”

Bailey was on the show to promote her debut solo album In Pieces, which was released last month. After it debuted at No. 119 on the Billboard 200 chart with roughly 10,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, her detractors had a lot to say on social media – but she came equipped with a response right back.
On the opening night of her tour of the same name on Tuesday (April 11), Chlöe Bailey told haters they can “kiss my Black ass” while encouraging her fans to support her album.

“Make sure y’all are supporting the muthafuckin’ album,” she said. “Fuck what the fuck everybody gotta fuckin’ say, they can kiss my Black ass. Because I know you guys love me and this is all I need.”
She added: “Thank you for loving me, thank you for being here, thank you for your energy.”

Released on Beyoncé‘s Parkwood Entertainment label, In Pieces boasts appearances from Chris Brown, Missy Elliott and Future, with production by Metro Boomin, The-Dream, Hitmaka, Cardiak, FnZ and many others.
During a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, the 24-year-old explained how her debut album is about “putting ourselves back together after feeling like the world breaks you down.”
“Those moments where I’ve been scared to articulate what I feel inside, I put it into the music,” she said. “Now people get to hear my innermost thoughts within these songs, which are all the moments where I’ve been scared to speak up or explain how I feel.
“There were moments I was heartbroken, not only through romantic relationships but friendships, family, and people I thought I could trust. In Pieces is about how we put ourselves back together after feeling like the world breaks you down.”

She added: “It’s therapeutic knowing that people who inspired some of these songs will hear them. It gives me my power back.”
