Central Cee has had quite the year thus far and it’s now gotten even better as the rising MC has bagged himself an endorsement from Kevin Durant.

On Tuesday (July 25), RapCaviar posted a clip from the final episode of Inside RapCaviar moderated by Taylor Rooks and featuring KD, Hit-Boy and Boi-1da. When the subject of “Rookie of the Year” came up, the Phoenix Suns forward went with London’s Central Cee whereas the other guests both chose American artists.

In drawing parallels with sports, the panel even discussed the similarities between rap and basketball, to which Durant responded: “Same game, in my opinion.”

As per RapCaviar‘s most recent update, Central Cee is second in the Rookie Leaderboard only to Ice Spice, who recently teased a collaboration with her British peer. Meanwhile, on the Most Valuable Player ladder, Drake and Metro Boomin currently sit at numbers one and two respectively. Voting is still open here.

While it is well known that Drizzy gave Ice Spice a boost while she was still establishing herself, he also recently stopped by On the Radar Radio and delivered a new freestyle alongside Central Cee.

The “Loading” rapper tagged in after two minutes where he more than held his own on the freestyle front while flexing his growth as an artist and even name-dropped Opium’s Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson.

What goes up must come down/ So when you’re in the air, prepare for the landing/ I did everything I could for the hood so how could they say I don’t care for the man/ Crib so big I might get out of breath if I walk too quick up the stairs in the mansion,” he rapped. “I’ve come a long way selling them Opium on my Lonely but I’m not Ken Carson.”
