Cassie has received support from her former Bad Boy labelmates Danity Kane amid the explosive accusations she’s made against her ex-boyfriend and former label head, Diddy.

Following news of the singer’s $30million lawsuit that accuses the Bad Boy mogul of rape, sex trafficking, and years of physical abuse, former DK members Dawn Richards and Aubrey O’Day spoke out on social media.

“Been tryna tell y’all for years,” Aubrey wrote on her Instagram Story on Thursday (November 16). “Prayers up for this queen @Cassie.”

On Twitter, Dawn wrote: “Praying for Cassie and her family, for peace and healing. You are beautiful and brave. [heart emoji].”

Aubrey O’Day has been vocal about her disdain for her former label boss many times in the past. In 2020, she accused him of artist mismanagement and siphoning funds from his artists.

“Diddy has mismanaged artists & stolen their money his whole career (including Danity Kane), and now he is showing up with 18 days left before the election to get Trump out of office,” she wrote. “When I was on Apprentice, Trump used to tell me DAILY how him and puff are good friends.” She followed it up with a puke emoji.

O’Day was initially discovered by Diddy in 2004 on the MTV reality show Making the Band 3 and chosen to be in the all-girl group Danity Kane. In 2006, they released their self-titled debut album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She was ultimately fired from the group in 2008 due to some tension with Diddy but joined again in 2013 before a second disbandment.

As for Cassie’s lawsuit, amongst the myriad of accusations is how Diddy (real name Sean Combs) allegedly blew up Kid Cudi‘s car during Paris Fashion Week. According to the “Me and You” singer, she briefly had an affair with the “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper in 2011, when she and Diddy were going through what she called a “rough patch.”

When the pair reunited, Diddy allegedly found some emails between Kid Cudi and Cassie, and grew progressively angry about the prospect, until things allegedly came to a violent end.

“In February 2012, during Paris Fashion Week, Mr. Combs told Ms. Ventura that he was going to blow up Kid Cudi’s car, and that he wanted to ensure that Kid Cudi was home with his friends when it happened. Around that time, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway,” page 20 of the filing alleges.

Cassie is seeking $30million in damages, plus related attorney’s fees and costs.

Cassie issued a statement to The New York Times about her accusations, saying: “After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”

Diddy’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, also released a statement to the Times, vehemently denying the allegations.

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” he said. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.

“Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

Cassie and Diddy were first romantically linked in 2007, but their relationship was mostly kept secret until 2012, when the couple went public with their relationship. However, the couple ultimately split in 2018, after nearly a decade of being together.

At the time of their split, the couple said that they “remained friends” and that Cassie was going to focus on her career in music and acting. The couple share no children.
