Cardi B has jumped in to clear up the confusion sparked by her “Coach bag” diss in her freshly dropped “Like What” freestyle.
Bardi’s latest freestyle — which samples Missy Elliott’s 1999 smash hit “She’s A Bitch” — arrived with much fanfare on Friday (March 1). Yet, some fans weren’t too pleased with a particular bar seemingly dissing a renowned luxury brand.

“Classy and a cunt / Blocks and money getting spunt / Like, like what? / Like a Coach bag, baby, this ain’t what you want,” Cardi raps.
Upon catching wind of the misunderstanding, the Bronx rapper took to Instagram Live to clear up the confusion.

“Yo, I’m getting jumped,” she began. “I be feeling like people from New York, like … we live in our own little world, right? I’m getting jumped because everybody’s like ‘Bitch, what’s wrong with Coach?’”
Cardi went on to reminisce about rocking her favorite Coach rain boots non-stop during high school. She then playfully referenced Cam’ron and Vado’s “Hey Muma” from 2011, teasing that only “real New Yorkers” would get it.
“In 2011, everybody started getting rid of their Coach shit. Honest truth, it was really because of Cam’ron,” suggested Cardi, describing herself as a true Dipset fan.
On “Hey Muma,” Cam spits, “Yo, girl, get a notepad / You ain’t got no swag / And you so fine, it’s so sad / Still riding coach, need a Coach bag / Let me coach you, no coach tags / Get rid of that Coach bag.”

Cardi continued, “When I was doing this song, that’s what I was thinking about. It’s like, ‘Bitch, do you want that or do you want this? You want a Chanel or you want this bag?’ Now everybody’s jumping me, I’m not trying to be on some rich shit and everything. This is just a real New York shit. I ain’t trying to offend none of y’all. I’ma buy me a Coach bag tomorrow, you hear me?”
The freestyle hiccup is likely just a taste of what fans can expect, as Cardi recently revealed her new album is on the horizon.
Returning to her Instagram stories, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper revealed a treasure trove of songs, some dating back as far as early 2023.
The video was captioned: “January 2023 ….I really got like 100 songs,” and displayed a screen packed with tracks, including one labeled “Cunty,” all recorded late in January of last year between 4 and 5 in the morning.

“January 27 of 20-20-fuckin’-three. I be working on this shit at 5 a.m. — you know I’m a night owl,” she said, referring to her work on that track. “I promise y’all this year: I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say… If I do a song, Imma just fuckin’ drop it.
“Well, I got no choice, because I’m dropping my album this year, so stay tuned for the announcement.”
