Cam’ron has been called a lot of things over the years, but “ungrateful” should not be one of them, especially since he’s just expressed his thanks to Gillie Da Kid and Wallo for providing the spark that ended his long-running beef with Ma$e.

On Thursday (November 9), the Dipset leader took to Instagram to share a post where he expressed his gratitude. It included a short excerpt of Cam talking to the Million Dollaz Worth of Game hosts on his and Ma$e’s own sports talk show, It Is What It Is.

“Thank you guys also for helping connect me and Ma$e, and putting this shit together for us,” Cam said in the clip. “To be honest with you, and we talked about this on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, we may not even still be speaking right now without you guys’ platform.”

He continued: “So we want to tell you guys thank you so much. And you see what it led to [It Is What It Is], because Harlem n-ggas are gonna start hustling once we cool again.”

Cam and Ma$e, who grew up and even played high school basketball together in Harlem before forming the rap crew Children of the Corn alongside Big L, Herb McGruff, and Bloodshed, began growing apart in 1999 when Ma$e left New York for Atlanta.

Ma$e returned to the rap game five years later with a new album called Welcome Back, which he promoted on Flunk Flex’s Hot 97 radio program. During the show, Cam and Jim Jones called in to interrogate Ma$e over his abrupt departure from Harlem. The trio argued live on Hot 97, with Cam calling him a “fraud.”

Numerous diss tracks followed between the pair, the most noteworthy being Cam’s “Take ‘Em to Church” off his iconic 2004 album Purple Haze. Ma$e didn’t return fire until 2017 with his track “The Oracle.”

Tension between the two continued until August 2022, when Ma$e appeared on Wallo and Gillie’s show Million Dollaz Worth of Game. During the appearance, the rapper admitted to having regrets about the feud. That opened up space for the two to reconcile. Cam appeared on the program just three episodes later.

Cam’s close friend Dame Dash recently said he was “happy” about he and Ma$e rekindling their friendship and finding success together.

“You know how happy that makes me? You know I used to manage them?” he said when asked about Cam and Ma$e’s repaired relationship in a recent interview. “To see this and them realize their potential, I always wanted them in front of cameras.

“Regardless of [bagging a bag], I’m just saying that they happy and that they finally gained the credit they deserve and it had to happen — pause — coming together and just being friends.”

He added: “And that’s all we’ve ever been. But Cam’ron, and to see them get the credit and do life after Hip Hop, that’s what I love to see.”
