Cam’ron has caught wind of NBA guard Anthony Edwards‘ new Adidas commercial, in which the latter sends out a clear message to the rapper.

Fresh off a second-round playoffs elimination, the Minnesota Timberwolves star shared a new ad for his custom basketball shoes on Friday (May 31).

In it, he can be seen practicing his moves as a receipt machine keeps printing comments people have made about him that he is determined to prove wrong.

“Cam’ron said, ‘To me, he’s an All-Star, but not a superstar, yet,'” his friend Slick reads out at one point, to which AE responds with a succinct: “Fuck buddy.”

Soon after the video went live, Killa shared it to his Instagram profile with his response in the caption.

“#Fuckbuddy [two laughing emojis, three fire emojis] commercial!! Thx @adidas for the love,” he wrote. “And I had antman back this whole time but I’ll address this Monday on the show.. love the attitude tho. Only thing I would say is get a better looking lesbian to read the receipts.”

While the Dipset MC has ruffled a lot of feathers since pivoting from rap to sports media, he has also enjoyed a great deal of success in the field over the past year.

During a discussion panel at Black Enterprise’s 2024 Disruptor Summit earlier this month, he looked back on how he began It Is What It Is back in 2023.

“I did three–four episodes by myself,” he began. “I actually invited Ma$e to be a guest on the show and he was like, ‘Yo man, this is really dope — do you want to go half on it?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we can go half, let’s do it.’

“He didn’t even have to put any money up, but he was willing to. I probably did four episodes, maybe five, and they offered me a million dollars and I was like, ‘No.’ And then we got to probably 10 episodes and it got up to like three million dollars, and I was like, ‘Oh, we got something here.'”

He continued: “We actually did 35 episodes, so we did a deal, but I probably spent $127,000 ’cause I just kept shooting and shooting, and Ma$e had this number in his head […] When it got to like six million dollars, I was like, ‘Ma$e we got to— it doesn’t make sense to not do the deal.’

“And he had a real number in his head. He’s like, ‘Cam, we got to [wait],’ so we end up doing [a] $20 million deal.”
