Cam’ron and Ma$e have expressed their doubts about Luka Doncic ultimately carrying the Dallas Mavericks to an NBA championship in the future.
On the latest episode of It Is What It Is, which premiered on Monday (June 5), Killa and the Harlem World rapper debated Luka Doncic being worthy of his super-max contract extension that kicked in this past season and will pay him about $215 million through 2027.

“Luka, as a talent, he deserves it but do you make the team better?” the Dipset member asked his co-host.
“I think Luka deserves the money,” Ma$e replied. “And not because I get tickets in Dallas.”
Cam’ron pushed back with a plea to Mavs owner Marc Cuban: “Shammgod my man, we got friends in Dallas. Marc Cuban — everybody. Marc [Cuban], don’t pay him. He’s not Dirk [Nowitzki]. Dirk made other n-ggas better. Dirk took you to the promise land. Do you think Luka gon’ take y’all to the promise land?”
Cam then grilled Ma$e about his belief that the Mavs could reach the NBA Finals in the daunting Western Conference with Luka leading the team. Ma$e appeared to be convinced they couldn’t compete with the likes of the Denver Nuggets, but thinks there’s a chance Dallas could make some noise if they added another All-Star into the mix.
“If they get [Khris] Middleton and Kyrie [Irving]. They’ll be strong,” he said.
Cam’ron then pointed to the grave mistake of the Mavs’ management letting Jalen Brunson walk to the New York Knicks last summer to doom the franchise.
“What we paying n-ggas this much money for,” Cam asked. “If we’re going basically off n-ggas trying to get to the chip. I think they should’ve kept Jalen Brunson.”

The Dallas Mavericks traded for Kyrie Irving at the deadline in February but the Mavs missed the playoffs for the first time since Luka Doncic’s rookie season in 2018-2019.
Irving is now a free agent and Dallas will have plenty of crucial decisions to make this summer to plug holes on the roster around Doncic.
