Busta Rhymes has dropped over 100 pounds since 2019, and he’s credited touring with 50 Cent with helping him regain a “sexy” physique.
The Brooklyn rap legend, who opened for 50 on his sprawling Final Lap Tour this year, spoke to fans at a recent event for his new album Blockbusta, and revealed he lost another 37 pounds while on the road.

Busta Rhymes recently opened up about his weight loss journey in an interview with Men’s Health, whose Hip Hop 50 issue he covered alongside 50 Cent, LL COOL J, Method Man, Ludacris, Common and Wiz Khalifa in August.
The 51-year-old recalled having breathing difficulties after sex with his partner one night, which motivated him to shed the weight and get back into shape.

“I was trying to inhale, and it felt like it wasn’t working. I felt like I was having like an asthma attack — but I don’t have asthma,” he said. “So I walked out of the bedroom and went into the living room, and I was forcing myself to inhale, to relax.
“That was scaring me so much that it was a mindfuck, because I had to stay calm and make sure she didn’t hear me panic or hear me struggle to breathe. I’m butt-ass naked in the living room, trying to calm myself down.”
He added: “When I came back in the room once I got right, I laid back down next to her and she said something to me that really fucked me up. She was like, ‘Yo, this is not who I fell in love with.'”
Busta also detailed two other moments that pushed him to get fit: his son slapping his stomach while greeting him and the time it took his security guard and son 45 minutes to carry him into his house after he passed out in a car.

Shortly after, Bus-A-Bus decided enough was enough and had surgery on his vocal cords to remove polyps that were causing a 90 percent blockage in his throat, which could’ve killed him in his sleep and caused an array of health issues.
Busta Rhymes will be heading out on tour again next year in support of Blockbusta, with the trek kicking off on March 13 in San Francisco.
