In a lengthy video tribute, Busta said: “The God, the young king, the don Killer Mike. I just want y’all to know something. I’ve known Killer Mike for 20-plus years.
“I’ve seen Killer Mike work for 20-plus years and we run into each other without having no type of deep and intense conversation, just crossing paths, saying what up, and saluting each other, giving each other the love, the respect, and the camaraderie and reiterating to each other that we are resources to each other.”

He continued: “I think it’s important that everybody understands one of the most important things that we don’t get to see often. Killer Mike is a treasure to our culture. Not to just the culture of Hip Hop, but to the culture of people — Black people in particular.
“As a businessman, as an artist, as a man, period. The man has always stood on the right side of the moral compass. The man is full of principles and integrity, proper code of ethics and respect.”
He ended the speech by saying: “He’s one of the few that’s from a selected group of people that when he wins, we don’t clap because it’s politically correct to clap.
“We clap because that man actually deserves it. The truth is undisputed so we’re gonna give it up to Killer Mike. There’s no disputing the fact that he deserves every botanical garden he’s meant to receive right now.”
Earlier this week, Killer Mike was the one supporting another rapper when he threw his support behind a second seasonVince Staples’ The Vince Staples Show.
In a post on Instagram, the Run The Jewels rhymer showed love to the Long Beach rapper-turned-actor and his acclaimed show. Ever the hustler, Mike also had somewhat of an ulterior motive.
