Busta Rhymes has been recruited to add some flavor to the remix of Coi Leray‘s hit single “Players,” which samples one of his own classics.

Coi Leray dropped the official remix on Friday (March 24), with Busta added as a guest feature. His appearance serves as a full circle moment for Leray, who saw another remix of her song by DJ Saige sample Busta’s “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.”

Saige’s remix helped boost the song’s popularity, and so it only made sense for Busta to hop on the remix. Busta added his usual high energy and charisma to the remix, where he praised Coi Leray and DJ Saige for what they did to the song.

Look how we got on Saige is killin em with the blend/ And Coi be bodying shit no matter how they pretend/ Create a block forever knowin my shit hot/ Flirtin with a n-gga while twerkin on TikTok,” Busta raps.

The crossing of the generations was meant to happen as the original version of Coi’s “Players” samples Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five’s 1982 record “The Message.” The New Jersey native actually linked with Flash last November and had dinner in New York City where the Hip Hop pioneer praised Coi.

Flash also gifted her a custom-made hoodie including the slogan “Girls Are Players Too” in traditional bubble graffiti font that the Trendsetter rapper shared on her Instagram Story.

“It was nice meetin Coi,” Grandmaster Flash wrote in the caption of his post. “We chopped it up about Life, Music, the Business and she comes back with great answers — the Lady knows what she wants. Had a blast with her, until next time kid Watch out for her @coileray.”

New York Hip Hop tastemakers such as DJ Clue and former G-Unit member DJ Whoo Kid showed their support for the original record in the comments of Coi Leray’s original IG post when she met with Flash.

“Send that thru,” Clue wrote in a comment, while Whoo Kidd added several fire emojis.

The original version of “Players” peaked at No. 1 and No. 15 on Billboards Rhythmic and Hot 100 charts, respectively. It became Coi’s fourth entry on the Billboard Hot 100. “Players (Busta Rhymes Remix)” also follows the David Guetta remix, which was released last week.
