Bun B’s culinary exploits have earned him a great deal of praise in the fast-food circuit over the past two years, and he now plans on expanding his reach.
During an appearance on AUX MONEY that aired on Thursday (December 14), the Texas MC discussed his vision for Trill Burgers and how he wants it to grow past the confines of his home turf in a manner similar to his and Pimp C’s music.

“We created this brand to scale up and scale out,” he began. “So while I am proud of the fact that we started this company in Houston and Houston helped us to get to where we going, I want this to be as much of a cultural export as UGK’s music was.
“I want it to be representative of the city and associated with the city just as strongly, so I do plan to scale this burger out to other cities for sure. Definitely going to probably stay in Texas for the most part in the earliest stages, because it’s going to be easiest for us to maintain consistency and source ingredients in a financially viable way.”

Over the summer, Bun B finally opened the doors of the fast-food joint’s inaugural brick-and-mortar location in Houston. The 3,236-square-foot outlet has been the brand’s home ever since, though it isn’t yet certain if that will be their permanent home.
“It’s been a dream for us, and it’s actually coming true,” the rapper said. “It’s been our sole goal to open up an establishment where we can serve you guys Trill Burgers consistently at a high level on a daily basis. And now we’re ready to do it. We are now officially open for business, ready to serve you.”
Located in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, the newly opened restaurant features a drive-thru and was formerly home to one of Houston’s longest-running James Coney Island locations. You can find the restaurant at 3607 S Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77098.
Launched in Houston in 2021 with a series of pop-ups, Trill Burgers was crowned “best burger in America” by Good Morning America last year. It’s also received celebrity co-signs among the likes of James Harden, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss and more – with the last of these noting that the burgers are “like a Dr. Dre beat.”

Bun B has been active in the Hip Hop community for over thirty years now, but his love for food only came to light within the past decade. In an interview with HipHopDX last year, the lifelong food enthusiast explained how he ended up in the burger business.
“I’m a big boy, so I’ve always been a fan of food,” Bun B said. “A friend of mine and I started a food blog a little more than 10 years ago called ‘You Got To Eat This,’ my friend Premium Pete from Brooklyn. We met in other things, but we bonded over food. And so even locally, in the city, I’ve been a big proponent of food trucks and trying to direct people to different great places to eat.”
