New Orleans, LA

Boosie Badazz may be a Louisiana legend, but apparently the New Orleans Pelicans don’t treat him like one.

The Baton Rouge native took to Instagram Live on Sunday (March 10) to air his grievances with his home state NBA team, accusing them of offering him just $1,000 to perform at one of their games.

What’s more, Boosie claims that the Pelicans refuse to give him courtside tickets to home games.

“They don’t wanna give me no courtside tickets. That’s cold-blooded,” he vented. “The Pelicans, they don’t fuck with me. Not the players, just… every time I try to get courtside tickets, I can’t get courtside tickets.”

“They offered me $1K to perform at their halftime show [laughs]. And not even no courtside seats! Atlanta [Hawks] pay $10,000, $7,500 to perform to their artists, and courtside seats.”

He continued: “Pelicans told me they had $1K for me to perform twice in one night [laughs]. And that don’t even come with no seats!

“They wanted me to perform at the HBCU night. Them people said $1K and I’m from Louisiana. That’s crazy. I’m like, ‘That don’t come with courtside seats?’ They’re like, ‘No.’

“I think I told ’em, ‘I appreciate it but I’m good. I feel like that’s an insult.'”

Last month, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper followed in the footsteps of another Louisiana native, Lil Wayne, and expressed his desire to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl, which will take place in New Orleans.

Unlike Weezy who is looking to headline, however, Boosie said that he’s merely hoping to be brought out as a special guest.

“SUPERBOWL N NEW ORLEANS 2025!” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “WHOEVER PERFORMS SHOULD BRING ME OUT N ITS A WRAP!! IM GO KILL IT #facts.”

Boosie spoke on the topic again while talking to fans on Instagram Live a few days later.

“‘Will you perform at the Super Bowl if they ask?’ Do dogs bark? Do dogs take shits? What you think?” he said. “Them people call me for the Super Bowl, I’ma already be on Canal Street.

“I mean, if you have a Super Bowl in Louisiana and you call Louisiana artists to perform — if Boosie don’t perform, people gon’ have something to say.”

Lil Wayne put his Super Bowl dreams in the air in December and explained why headlining the halftime show would mean so much to him.

“Just as bad as I wanted to see my name at the top of that list when I was whatever age it was and I would bust into the office and get that Billboard magazine,” he told Bleacher Report‘s Taylor Rooks of his desire to perform at the big game.

“Just as an artist, you know, ’cause this has nothing to do with the sport. As an artist, this is an achievement. This has nothing to do with the sport — that’s so crazy. I don’t care what teams are playing, what city it’s in. ‘You performed for the what?!’ Like, what? Oh man, so that right there is an achievement.”
