Big Sean has released his sixth album Better Me Than You which features guest appearances from the likes of Gunna, Cash Cobain and Kodak Black as well as one very special guest.
After a tumultuous rollout, which has seen the project leak in its near entirety and a push back in release, Sean Don has finally delivered his biggest album to date, clocking in at over an hour and 21 tracks.
The biggest highlight on the album is a cameo appearance from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on “Break the Cycle” which also features Charlie Wilson.
Johnson does not rap but instead is gifting Sean with a heartfelt message about fatherhood.
He says to the Detroit MC: “Yo, what’s up my brother? Great to hear from you. So, a few things. Most importantly, that sounds amazing, your baby boy is nine months old, thriving, I love hearing that and I’m sure that you were an inspired artist to begin with, like right out the gate but I’m sure holding your baby boy gives you a whole new perspective. This new evolution of what inspiration means so I’m sure your motivation, inspiration is through the roof with your baby boy.

Johnson then joked: “What’s cool is your baby boy at nine months is almost already bigger than Kevin Hart so that’s really cool. Alright, my brother, I love you man. So happy for you, man, can’t wait to see your baby boy.”
Apart from The Rock, Better Me Than You also features appearances from DJ Premier, Bryson Tiller and his former G.O.O.D. Music stabelmate Teyana Taylor.
Proof from D12‘s son NASAAN also guests on “Certified” while singers Syd and Ellie Goulding also make appearances across the lengthy LP.
Before the release of the album, Sean admitted he had been struggling of late.

He said on Instagram Live: “I am a chronic overthinker. I’m a chronic, constant worker. And I’ve been having a hard time lately, straight up. It’s not been easy… But it’s worth it.”
Sean then credited his mother with helping him rediscover his confidence.
“When me and Jhené were giving our son a bath last night, my mom called me and she was just giving me them words,” he said. “And I was just like, Look, I can keep working and make it exactly how I want it and I’ll be pushing it back forever. Or I can believe in the fire-ass work that I got right now and that’s what I’ma do.
