B.G. has added some Southern spice to one of Maino’s biggest hits of the year, giving it a twist of his own that offers fans an alternate angle.

Maino dropped his latest solo album on Friday (December 15). Just as K.O.B.4 went live, he also unleashed a new remix of “For My City” with the Cash Money veteran, along with a music video.

“B.G. is my brother, we have a solid history,” the 50-year-old MC told AllHipHop. “So it was only right for him to jump on the remix. The timing, for him to show love to his city worked out too – especially considering some of what I touched on in my lyrics.”

In 2012, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice stemming from a 2009 traffic stop arrest.

He has been back on his grind since his release in September. Among a string of other collaborations, he and Gucci Mane released a collaborative mixtape titled Choppers & Bricks.
