While accepting her Woman of the Year award, 70-year-old Tina became emotional as she paid tribute to Bey and her other daughter Solange.
“My daughters have brought me such incredible joy and pride in my life, far more than anything else. They are my crew, my tribe, my rocks, my ride or dies,” she said.

“They have been right there by my side at the lowest points of my life and they have cheered me on at the highest points of my life, making me feel like I can conquer anything,” she added, choking up.
The camera then cut to Beyoncé who was sat in the audience and could be seen wiping tears from her face.
Knowles continued: “I am asked most often, ‘What is the proudest moment you’ve had with your daughters?’ And my answer is always the same: what I’m most proud of is the human beings that they are. How they have managed to stay humble, grounded, generous, gracious and kind, and how they managed to put it all into their art.”

Tina’s love was reciprocated as Beyoncé and Solange, alongside other relatives and family friend Kelly Rowland, paid tribute to the matriach in a touching video tribute played during the event.
In the clip, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker says: “Why do I love my mom? What’s not to love about my mom. She’s also protective and if you try her, Galveston will come out.
“She’s going to always give love. It’s a gentle, firm love that is always honest and always wants the best for you.
Solange adds: “My mom inspires me by being a powerhouse. There is power in her hands. All of the grace, all of the strength, all of the poetry, all of the spirituality.
“She is the best grandmother and the epitome of a woman with so much nuance.”

Tina Knowles previously opened up about raising Beyoncé, reflecting on the time the future icon stood up to bullies who were giving her classmate a hard time.
“Beyoncé, she was very shy and she got bullied a bit,” she said in an interview with Vogue. “But the day that she stood up for someone — she didn’t stand up for herself but she stood up for them — I’m getting emotional talking about it. I couldn’t have been more proud of her.”
