Benny The Butcher has never been one to hold his tongue, and he’s now attempting to put those who have questionable opinions about rap in their place in the most respectful way.
The Buffalo rapper took to social media earlier this week to let off some steam, while telling critics that they “gotta start just enjoying the music.”

“Stop tryna always give ya’ll opinion cause you n-ggas is not Stephen A. Smith,” Benny said, referencing the popular ESPN sports analyst. “Respectfully though. It’s like, enjoy the music. Muthafuckas don’t enjoy the music no more. They just critique the music.”
He continued: “The people that you critiquing, you gotta realize, a large percent of them got here without your opinion. Like respectfully, don’t take this the wrong way, but I get online and I see just people critiquing shit. Saying what they like and don’t like. Enough of that bullshit man. Get back to enjoying the music man.

“Get back to celebrating these artists. And if you don’t like it, you don’t fucking like it. Not saying that ya’ll gotta like everything, but just enjoy it. Can we get back to enjoying the music? Ya’ll see where this shit goin’. So, uplift the people that are putting out shit that ya’ll do like man. ‘Cause this shit is getting out of control.”
Benny The Butcher then let everyone know that his forthcoming album, Everybody Can’t Go, is a “10 for 10” while repeating his sentiments in a corresponding video.
As for his highly anticipated album, the Griselda rapper said back in August that even though the album is delayed, it doesn’t mean that it’s disqualified it from being the best album of 2023.
“My album ain’t coming out tonight or tomorrow,” Benny said on Instagram. “Just know I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was. Just know when you hear my shit it’s gonna be better than all this other shit you’ve been hearing all year.”
Benny The Butcher announced Everybody Can’t Go last year, claiming the album would be the Def Jam’s best release since DMX’s groundbreaking 1998 debut, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot.
“Imma have the best Hip Hop @defjam album since DMX ‘It’s Dark & Hell is Hot,” Benny wrote on Twitter last year.

To clarify how bold this claim is, Spotify’s Head Of Urban Music tweeted out that if Benny’s statement came to be true, that would mean it’d also surpass every Kanye West project from College Dropout to The Life of Pablo, JAY-Z’s Black Album and Blueprint, Jeezy’s The Recession and Thug Motivation 101, Pusha T’s Daytona, Scarface’s The Fix and YG’s My Krazy Life.
The last solo effort from Benny The Butcher was Tana Talk 4, which was also his first Def Jam project since signing with the label last November. Benny’s third studio album debuted at No.15 on the Billboard 200, moving 20,000 units.
