Benny The Butcher has revealed he turned down a meeting with Donald Trump despite previously praising the former president.
After causing a stir with his political opinions last year, the Everybody Can’t Go rapper took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday (January 26) to address his relationship with Trump.

“Turned down a meeting with 45 last week,” he wrote.
While the purpose of the proposed meeting is unclear, Donald Trump is running for re-election in the 2024 presidential election in November.

When a fan asked why he declined to meet Trump, Benny replied: “For 1 I’m not a politician I’m a rapper, for 2 people dumb as shit and won’t understand for 3 it’s not that important to me.”
Another fan claimed the Griselda rapper’s decision to not meet Trump was “pretty fuckin stupid” due to missing out an opportunity to “help his community.”

In response to that comment, someone else brought up Ice Cube’s decision to work with Trump’s campaign and the backlash he received.
“You mean like when @icecube went and tried to work a deal for black America and was dragged for it ?” they said.
Benny responded by simply writing: “Exactly.”
Benny The Butcher previously showed his support for Donald Trump by revealing he would vote for him as president in 2024.
“I’m votin Trump 2024,” he wrote on X in August.

The Buffalo, New York native was later asked about his comments during an appearance on the Juan Ep Is Life podcast in November.
“Well, this is what I’m gonna say about that,” he said. “Celebrities aren’t supposed to share their public opinion. And I learned that lesson that day. Their political opinion, I mean.”
Then, in January, Benny The Butcher elaborated further on his stance toward Trump, admitting he didn’t know who he would be voting for in the election.
“People in our position ain’t supposed to speak on their political candidates,” he said on The Breakfast Club. “I also learned everybody voting for Trump, y’know what I’m saying? Only president I voted for was [Barack] Obama, so I really was just talking shit.

“A lot of times, African Americans — we vote Democrat and what the fuck that been doing for us? That’s all I mean, like what the Democrats been doing for us? I was expressing my frustrations on that.”
He added: “I don’t know who I’m voting for.”
