Benny The Butcher has revealed that he was recently arrested in Georgia, but his brief stint in jail wasn’t entirely bad.
In a video posted to his Instagram Stories on Sunday (July ), the Griselda rapper said that he was detained in Gwinnett County last week due to an unspecified probation violation.

Reflecting on his latest brush with the law, Benny explained that there was a silver lining to the otherwise negative situation: “The Lord works in mysterious ways, right? So last week, I got arrested. I was in Gwinnett County for like four days.
“That’s the first time I ever made it on a unit in 11 years. Had some bullshit probation hold. I didn’t even wanna tell y’all, man. But long story short: I met some brothers that I probably wouldn’t have been able to meet if I wasn’t in there.”
He continued: “I got to meet somebody and got the opportunity to help him with his lawyer. Somebody who I just met, told me he needed help with his lawyer and I helped that n-gga just outta nowhere ’cause that’s the least that I could do. Being back in there just opened my eyes up and showed me what’s still going on.”
The Buffalo, New York native elaborated on why he helped the stranger: “Trust me, I ain’t do that shit to get on here and tell y’all I did that shit. That shit just made me feel good in my soul ’cause I’ve been in that position before.

“I just be trying to help strangers, my n-gga. And I say that to say: a lot of you n-ggas is beyond help from other people. You gotta help yourselves at this point.”
Earlier this year, Benny The Butcher claimed that he was on an FBI watchlist but did not reveal what for.
“I do feel like I’m being harassed [by police in Buffalo],” he told Charlamagne Tha God during an interview on The Breakfast Club. “I just found out I’m on the FBI watchlist back home. They raided my studio about two months ago.”
He said federal authorities were also monitoring his social media pages: “I’m pretty sure when I see who’s watching my [Instagram] Stories, the pages with no profile, I know that’s Agent Dan somewhere. I’m not a fool.”

The rapper was previously forced to cancel several performances in the UK over his criminal record.
“UK shows canceled based on ‘old FBI reports’ and a new felony charge I just caught last week tht y’all won’t find out about until my documentary,” he wrote on X (then Twitter) in 2022.
