Beanie Sigel has set the record straight about his song “I Go Off” featuring 50 Cent, explaining that it’s not a diss track aimed at JAY-Z like some fans believed it to be.
In the latest segment from his conversation with Vlad TV, Beans said the song came together after 50 tried to get him to sign with him once he was released from prison.

As the Philly native explained, he wanted to sign with G-Unit due to the issues Roc-A-Fella Records was having at the time. At some point, Beanie Sigel joined forces with 50 Cent to record “I Go Off,” which originally had nothing to do with attacking JAY-Z.
“That ‘I Go Off’ was just a record that I had. I ain’t have no hook on it,” Beans said. “50 liked it. I sent it to him, he knocked the hook off.”

He continued: “It ain’t nothing about JAY-Z like n-ggas is talking about with that record. Even through the lyrics, ain’t nothing about JAY-Z in there, but 50 started talking crazy. Not crazy, but you know they got that weird relationship. They don’t fuck with each other, but then they fuck with each other.”

Although 50 never mentioned Hov on the song’s hook, he did save some space at the end of the song to take a shot at his longtime rival.
“Yeah! You changed man! You let the money change you, Jay,” 50 yells. “You used to be, from Marcy n-gga! Now you a pass the Grey Poupon-ass n-gga! You don’t want the shooters! I’ll take ’em! N-gga, you feed the wolves and the wolves feed off you!”
The relationship between Fif and Jay has always been a curious one. In January, 50 Cent threw shade at JAY-Z in response to a segment on Shaquille O’Neal’s The Big Podcast with Shaq. Former NBA star Jamal Crawford brought up the debate between Jay and Em and said the Roc Nation boss had way more of an influence.
“That’s why my five, the dominance outweighs the number,” Crawford said to Shaq, who initially disagreed. “Like, JAY-Z’s effect on Hip Hop is bigger than any album sales that Eminem will have, you see what I’m saying? That’s just how it goes.”

50 Cent echoed Shaq’s reluctance in the comments section of Hip Hop Wolf’s Instagram page, which had reshared the clip. “Ha Bullshit,” he wrote along with a sneezing face emoji.
