B.G. has put a creative flip on the concept of the freestyle, delivering his latest offering over the instrumental of a Rod Wave song on which the New Orleans rapper was sampled.

Published to YouTube on Wednesday (October 23), B. Gizzle’s new “Federal Nightmare Freestyle” hears him rapping over Rod Wave’s 2024 single of the same title.

The original track — which appeared on the Florida native’s album Last Lap — opened with audio from an interlude from B.G.’s 2008 Gangsta Grillz mixtape Hood General with DJ Drama.

B.G. is set to revisit another chapter in his history in just a few days, when he reunites with the fellow New Orleans natives he grew to prominence with.
In September, Lil Wayne announced that, B.G., Juvenile and Turk will be performing together as the Hot Boys at his Lil WeezyAna Festival, which takes place on November 2 at the Smoothie King Center and is produced by Live Nation Urban, Young Money and DMANI.

Attendees will also be treated to a “special” DJ set from fellow Cash Money kingpin Mannie Fresh, as well as a performance from fellow New Orleans native Rob49.

A Hot Boys reunion has been teased for almost a year now, but the journey to their upcoming Lil WeezyAna performance has been anything but smooth.

In July, B.G. and Turk began feuding after Birdman’s Cash Money reunion set at Essence Festival, during which he brought out B.G., Juvenile and Mannie Fresh but not Turk.

After the performance, Gizzle took aim at his former groupmate, saying: “It’s only one n-gga ain’t in this bitch, ya heard me? He brought that on hisself, ya heard me? N-gga did a bunch of ho shit and can’t take it back. He gotta fault his self for not being here.

“I know there’s gonna be a lot of people that’s like, ‘Oh, well, such and such, whoop de whoop.’ The n-gga know what he did last summer. And I’ma just leave it like that.”

Turk hit back by telling B.G. to “sit his muthafucking ass down somewhere” while declaring that he would not be involved in a Hot Boys reunion.
