Azealia Banks has once again stirred controversy — but this time it’s for her political allegiances rather than her potty mouth.

On Tuesday (July 9), the “212” rapper gave a clear indication who she plans to vote for in the upcoming presidential election when she was spotted attending a Donald Trump rally in Doral, Florida.

Banks reposted a video on social media of her in the crowd at the event and speaking into the camera, although her voice is drowned out by Trump’s speech.

After the footage circulated, fans were quick to criticize the Harlem native over her support of the controversial former president.

“Duuuuuh! Are we surprised. She hates herself [shrugging emoji, whining emoji],” one person commented on Instagram.

“I mean after she boiled that dead cat during Covid. Are we really surprised?” another said, while a third critic added: “Baby idk what’s going on with this world…but he’s another Jim Jones and they all drinking that juice….CULT LIKE ACTIVITIES!!”

Azealia Banks is no newcomer to Team Trump having endorsed the businessman turned politician since 2016 when he (successfully) first ran for president.

“Ok so, I think I’m ready to admit that I’m going to vote for Donald Trump,” she wrote on X (then Twitter) at the time. “I think Trump is the only one who truly has the balls to bust up big business.”

She also criticized the other candidates, writing: “Hilary is too tied in with them and Bernie has no clout. The other candidates are simply … ‘Them hoes over there’ #thots.

“Just because Hilary Clinton and Bernie sanders say nice things about minorities doesn’t mean they actually mean them. Politicians have been saying “nice” things about colored folks and we’ve still been getting fucked.”

Banks also isn’t the only rapper who is backing Trump in the run up to this year’s election.

In May, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow also raised eyebrows after appearing on stage with Trump at a rally in their hometown of the Bronx.

“One thing I wanna say… they always gonna whisper your accomplishments and shout your failures. Trump gonna shout the wins for all of us,” Sheff said while gracing the mic.

His fellow drill rapper also said a few words to the crowd after shaking Trump’s hand: “Make America great again!”

The following month, Detroit natives Icewear Vezzo and Peezyposed for a photograph with Trump and defended their decision after facing backlash online.

When one of his followers accused the former president of using him and Vezzo as “pawns,” Peezy embraced the jab and replied: “damn right.”

It was previously reported that Trump was looking to recruit Hip Hop artists and athletes to curry favor with the Black community in a bid to return to the Oval Office.

An article published by Rolling Stone earlier this week delved deeper into that story, claiming that the 78-year-old is working with disgraced Fyre Festival organizer Billy McFarland to connect him with rappers like those mentioned above.
