A$AP Rocky has taken an innovative approach and leveraged “everyday lifestyle type photos” for a new Bottega Veneta campaign, which he’s dubbed a “creative trifecta.”
On Monday (December 4), the multi-hyphenate entertainer — star of Bottega Veneta’s Pre-Spring 2024 campaign — took to social media where he unveiled the unorthodox collaboration along with his intentions behind it.

“Throughout history, there has always been a funny relationship between photographers and celebrities,” Rocky captioned the photo carousel. “Even down to the rights and the usage of photos, and the tabloid hustle, there’s always seemed to be a disconnection between famous people and the photographers who follows & film them.
“While certain celebrities call paparazzi on themselves, other celebrities might get confrontational with photographers. While a very small few, such as myself, don’t mind, as long as they post the good angles, of course.”

Unlike a traditional fashion campaign chock-full of glossy, staged photos, Rocky said the project intends to “bridge that gap” by marrying a celebrity’s experience with the paparazzi with well-put-together ensembles — in turn, scoring attention for the Italian luxury house.
“So, in good light of good angeled [sic] photos, myself and the creative minds @ #BOTTEGAVENETA thought it would be genius to bridge the gap and utilize my every day lifestyle type photos taken by candid photographers while I do my everyday thing,” he continued.

“So this serves less as a campaign and more as a creative trifecta brought to you by Bottega Venetta’s Matthieu Blazy, myself A$AP Rocky, and the talented tabloid style photographers involved. Cheers & thank u.”

Photos in the campaign include a snap from a recent run-in with TMZ, in which Pretty Flacko, jogging through the sunny streets of Los Angeles, played a game of cat and mouse with the interviewer.
Not letting the opportunity to talk to the Harlem native pass her by (literally), the journalist attempted to run alongside him and fire off a series of questions about his music career and personal life.

While keeping up with the father of two was no easy feat, the bare-footed reporter managed to quiz him about his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb and whether he plans to “address the Drake diss,” referring to the Toronto rapper seemingly taking jabs at Rocky and Rihanna on his For All the Dogs album.
Rocky revealed he’s still putting the finishing touches on his upcoming project, but he remained tight-lipped about the 6 God’s apparent shots.
Eventually, the paparazzo gave up and conceded defeat. “A$AP, I’m dying. I’m fading fast. Man, you’re in good shape,” she remarked as the rapper left her for dust.

Speaking of his impact on the culture, A$AP Rocky recently sat down with Highsnobiety for the publication’s latest cover story and in it, he boasted about his influence and ability to shift the masses.
“I think while I’m still here, I got a duty to aspire to inspire,” he said. “There’s really only a few people who control the culture, and when I tell you that I’m at the forefront, believe dat!”

“Still to this day, to have that type of following, influence, control, and that power is magical and rare,” he added of his career spanning well over a decade.
