Anthony Anderson has shared a wild story from filming Exit Wounds with DMX, recalling how he “had to stop” the rap icon from inadvertently hurting himself.
The actor was a guest on former NBA player and coach Byron Scott’s Fast Break podcast, and he recalled a particularly wacky encounter he had with the late Ruff Ryders legend.

Anderson told a story about going to Red Lobster with DMX. He began: “X ordered shrimp three ways. He ordered it broiled, fried, and sautéed. And he’s tearing it up. We’re having a good time at Red Lobster. And then, about 20 minutes into the meal [choking sound effects] you just hear X.
“I’m like: ‘Yo, X, what’s up dawg?’ He’s just like: ‘[choking noises] I’m allergic to shrimp.’ He starts breaking out in hives and shit. I’m like: ‘Yo, X, what the fuck?’ And he’s like: ‘Yeah, but I love the taste of it!’ This motherfucker grabbed the steak knife and he’s about to stick it in his ear to get an itch he can’t reach and I had to stop him! I’m like: ‘X, what the fuck?’ He’s like: ‘I can’t get it!'”

Anthony Anderson isn’t the only person with a crazy story about DMX.
Last year, Cassidy recalled visiting DMX and Swizz Beatz in Arizona while working on his third album B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story in 2006, and shared a wild story involving X and a live scorpion.
The Philly native appeared on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, where he remembered the time the Yonkers legend was riding an ATV and smashed a scorpion’s tail off with a rock, before picking it up with its blood gushing out of his ruptured body.
“I went back to Arizona for my third album,” Cassidy began. “That was the last time I was really around X, went to his crib… X was in a positive zone. I was liking how he was carrying it at that time.

“One of the memorable moments was when he showed me this giant scorpion we was riding past. He was on the four-wheeler, we was in the car and he was leading us back to the road to leave. And then he turned around and said, ‘Yo, y’all wanna see a scorpion?’
Cas continued: “He took a rock and threw it down and it made the scorpion tail come off. He picked it up like this, and poison was dripping and he was like, ‘Look, look!’”
