Kid Cudi has responded to a fan’s observation in a way that might lead to new music with one of today’s elite producers, The Alchemist.

On Friday (November 10), Cudi replied to a post on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. The user wrote: “boom bap Cudi >>>,” referencing his Man on the Moon 2 track “The End.”

The Cleveland native really took the message to heart, replying: “Wheres @Alchemist when u need him man!!! Lets do a album FUCK.”

The producer saw and responded to the message just hours later, writing: “long overdue! They dont know we go back! im getting your # from [Jason] Goldwatch asap.”

You can see the messages below.

The Alchemist’s note about going back with Kid Cudi is more right-on than many fans of both artists might realize. The two collaborated on The Alchemist’s 2008 song “Therapy,” which also featured Blu, Evidence and — on some, though not all versions of the song — Talib Kweli.

Jason Goldwatch is a director who has links with both artists. He has worked with Cudi for over a decade, including on the recent video for “ILL WHAT I BLEED.”

The duo are currently on tour to promote the project. Joining them on their run are Black Noi$e and MIKE (who also appeared on their album).

Kid Cudi is no stranger to full-length collaborations either having released joint projects with Kanye West (2018’s Kids See Ghosts) and Dot Da Genius (2012’s WZRD).
