Akademiks is being slammed on social media following comments he made about Kendrick Lamar‘s admissions on 2022’s “Mother I Sober.”

During a live stream on Thursday (October 24), Ak brought up the Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers track, which finds K.dot detailing his mother’s experience with sexual abuse and her fear that he might be abused as well.

On the song, he raps: “I remember lookin’ in the mirror knowin’ I was gifted/Only child, me for seven years, everything for Christmas/Family ties, they accused my cousin, “Did he touch you, Kendrick?”/Never lied, but no one believed me when I said “He didn’t”/Frozen moments, still holdin’ on it, hard to trust myself/I started rhymin’, copin’ mechanisms to lift up myself/Talked to my lawyer, told me not to be so hard on myself.”

The polarizing personality misinterpreted the lyrics and thought it was an admission of Kendrick being sexually assaulted as a kid, however, which he referred to as being “fingered in the butt.”

He then joked how “fire” that was to say versus a 50 Cent type saying he’d been shot or killed. Needless to say, his comments did not go over well on social media.

“Akademiks making fun of Kendrick’s mom getting sexually abused made me sick. Fuck that fat chipmunk looking n-gga Fr, no wonder he has a rape case on him,” one person said.

Another person wrote: “This dude @Akademiks is such a lame, it’s actually sad.. Kendrick literally say’s “he didn’t”, but Ak is so hyper-focused on the idea of Kendrick being touched (as a child btw), he refuses to accept the lyrics sitting right in his face. This is why these Drake stans need help.”

Someone else added: “Akademiks is a rapist, so of course he finds the idea of Kendrick being sexually assaulted enjoyable. No one should support him.”

Akademiks was named in a civil lawsuit filed by a woman in Essex County, NJ, who accused him of both rape and defamation earlier this year.

According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, the controversial podcaster (real name Livingston Allen) was sued in Essex County, NJ, by his ex-girlfriend Ziya Abashe. The case was filed on May 13 by Abashe’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn.

In the suit, Abashe alleged that in July 2022, Akademiks invited her to his house, where two of his friends drugged her, got her forcibly drunk, and raped her. Following that, she recalls “being awakened naked in a bed in what she believed was Mr. Allen’s bedroom. She believes this was around 4 a.m. She was awoken by Mr. Allen savagely, pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and…brutally raping her.”

Subsequently, Abashe reported the alleged rape to the police, after which she alleged that Akademiks began defaming her good name by accusing her of participating in an “orgy” with the two men, and denying his own participation.

“Mr. Allen and his two accomplices’ sexual assault severely injured Ms. Abashe, causing significant physical and psychological pain and suffering, loss of dignity, and invasion of her privacy,” she wrote in the lawsuit. “Mr. Allen’s public statements added to the harm Ms. Abashe was already silently suffering with.”
