Akademiks has roasted DJ Envy and his former real estate business partner for their alleged roles in a reported Ponzi scheme.
The Hip Hop commentator took to his YouTube page on Thursday (October 19) to discuss the situation, which seems to be picking up steam after Cesar Pena, was taken into police custody amid several fraud charges brought against both regarding their endeavors in real estate.

As far as Akademiks is concerned, though, DJ Envy’s victims are just as much to blame for their fate as the Power 105 host is.
“How do you let DJ Envy affect your financial decisions?” he said. “Half the time I’m listening to The Breakfast Club, these n-ggas even can’t read what’s on the fuckin’ paper. No disrespect to none of those people up there. I really like them. […] But these n-ggas can barely read what’s on the fuckin’ Rumor Report. You think I’m giving them a million dollars? Fuck no, man. You crazy as hell.”

He continued: “These n-ggas can’t pronounce shit, can’t read. And I’m giving — ah, hell no! You bring some n-gga who’s diabetic on here. The n-gga got 10X T-Shirts, thinking it’s 2003. The n-gga wearing Timbs, and the Timbs look like they’re squealing! ‘Help me!’ Like Jesus Christ!”
“You gave that n-gga $800,000? It took you 20 years to get it, you gave it to him in 20 minutes? You might be the dummy! I’m sorry! You might be the dummy. That’s who I’m talking about, a ‘donkey of the day.’ I can’t feel too bad for you. Like, come on, bro. […] I ain’t gonna say I’m beyond getting got. But if you gonna get me, you gonna sound a lot smarter than me.”
In a separate interview on the same day, Akademiks spoke with Myron Gaines, the host of the Fresh & Fit podcast, who — as it turns out — is also a former Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent. Gaines confirmed that the United States attorney in New Jersey — Philip R. Sellinger — is taking the lead on the case.
However, Gaines also claimed that “the FBI was not involved in the case,” which is incorrect. Within the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI is responsible to the attorney general, and it reports its findings to U.S. Attorneys across the country, per the FBI’s official website.
On Wednesday (October 18), NBC investigative reporter Sarah Wallace revealed that the iHeartRadio office was raided by federal officials. Electronic equipment from the company’s Midtown Manhattan building, which is where The Breakfast Club operates out of, was taken for the investigation.
“An inside source tells us that the iHeartRadio offices were visited by the feds, who took out electronic equipment as part of this investigation,” she said.

DJ Envy himself has denied any knowledge of fraud, telling Breakfast Club listeners last week that anyone who thinks he was involved in defrauding people, that’s “totally not true. I would never.”
He added: “I’ve been on radio close to 30 years and never in my 30 years’ time did I do nothing but try to uplift people… And I would never take a dollar from somebody.”
