The video is a snippet from a documentary about the infamous Limelight nightclub in New York City which was owned by Peter Gatien, who was suspected of being a drug kingpin. It was reported that Caruso was an informant in the case, betraying his friend and employer Gaiten.
50 captioned the video: “This Fool been snitching since 1942 Don Julio ! [grinning face emojis] you know he gonna tell on everybody.
“LOL @beamsuntory is fucked, they was paying this guy Michael Caruso a half a million a year and him and his partner Julious Grant put this together. @beamsuntory @jimbeamofficial This is gonna make a great Tv show.”
In an article published by The Village Voice in 2000, it said of Caruso: “The big-time promoter — the man who first brought techno music to Manhattan and turned Staten Island on to Ecstasy — confessed to a string of brutal crimes: bank robbery, home invasions, extortion schemes, kidnapping attempts, wholesale drug trafficking, and more.
“These should have put him behind bars for 20 years. But in exchange for leniency, he became the centerpiece of the government’s case against Gatien, betraying a man who he’d told associates was closer to him than his own father.”

In his posts about the matter the day prior, the Queens, New York native promised the company would “pay” for what they did.
“@beamsuntory is gonna pay for what they did trust me,” he wrote. “These big companies think they can get away with anything. It has cost me millions in legal fees. They are gonna find out I’m not the one you want to play with.”
He added: “Here is a clearer version of the News, @beamsuntory @jimbeamofficial I’m not the guy you want to get started. In nicest way I’m gonna need my money by Monday.”
50 also posted an alleged letter from Beam Suntory dated August 15, 2016 to one of the people accused of embezzlement.

Beam Suntory have denied the accusations, telling FOX 5 New York in a statement: “Beam Suntory vehemently denies all allegations of wrongdoing. It had no involvement in or knowledge of the fraudulent activity alleged in the complaint, and any allegation to the contrary has no basis in fact.
“It is undisputed that we honored all prior obligations to Mr. Jackson and Sire Spirits, and it is very unfortunate that the parties involved continue to misrepresent the facts and misdirect blame in an attempt to recover fees and damages.”
