50 Cent Implies Majority Of JAY-Z’s Grammys Were Won Because He’s Married To Beyoncé

50 Cent has fired yet another shot at the Carter crew amid his long-standing rivalry with JAY-Z and Beyoncé.

In a recent conversation with XXL, the G-Unit mogul sounded off on the importance of relationships in the music industry and in the process raised a few eyebrows when he insinuated it was Hov’s marriage to Bey, and not necessarily his talent, that has contributed to his mainstream success.

“The same concept with the Super Bowl. See, they don’t understand the relationship. They were trying to get [Eminem] to do the Super Bowl without me. It wasn’t happening,” Fif said of his appearance at 2022’s Super Bowl halftime show.

He then drew attention to JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s relationship. “It’s okay for the award shows not to give me the trophies. Even JAY-Z’s career, you can look at that and say the association to Beyoncé is when he started to received the 16, 17 Grammys, since he’s been with Beyoncé. And you go, prior to that… [he had] one. That came with the association.

“You see [Jay and Beyoncé’s] kids already have Grammys. They don’t sing yet. They don’t sing. They don’t rap yet. And, they already have Grammys and shit. So, they say, ‘Give them this trophy so we can secure that they’re coming — to the awards show.'”

“It meant that much to the culture they just gave them the things,” he added, implying the Carter family’s long list of accolades is more a PR scam.

50 Cent then confessed that he “didn’t care about the trophies” as he was more concerned about “the checks,” adding: “Because what I was saying was the content was raw enough and who I am— my experience is a little bit abrasive to conservatives.

“I haven’t experienced much that Jay probably hasn’t experienced. What I will say is, he has a — he’s internal. He’s a quiet person. So, you don’t see that. You don’t feel the energy that goes on in that environment.”

“Later, people look at it and they honor those things. It didn’t matter to me in that time period — I was like ‘Fuck it.’ Don’t give me the trophy. So what? They didn’t give me Best New Artist and I sold 13 million records. That’s the largest debuting Hip Hop album,” said 50 Cent, reflecting on his loss at the 46th Grammy Awards, where his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2003) earned him a Best New Artist nomination.

However, overall 50 Cent revealed he understood the reasoning, alleging that “they don’t want kids to be 50 Cent.”

This certainly isn’t the first time 50 Cent has dragged Queen B into his longtime rivalry with her legendary husband. In fact, last summer, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, 50 recalled Queen Bey once stepping to him in Vegas while he was greeting Hov because she assumed he was confronting her then-boyfriend.

50 claimed Beyoncé jumped down from a window ledge and was “ready” to fight him, admitting the encounter caught him completely by surprise. It’s unclear when the incident took place exactly.

“She was on, like, a window sill. We was in Vegas,” he recalled. “She jumped out, she was like [pulls a confrontational face]. And I’m like, ‘Wait, what is you doing? That’s me and JAY-Z’s stuff, this ain’t got nothing to do with you, girl.’

“She jumped off the ledge. I was like, ‘Oh, shit!’ I didn’t really know what to do. It was one of those situations where you were like, ‘Woah!’ If you say this to Jay, he’ll look at you and go, ‘Nah, that happened.’”

He continued: “She came like she was ready! Like something was gonna happen! And I’m like, ‘Woah, woah, woah.’ She throwing me off now ’cause I don’t know exactly how to respond to this. You are still Beyoncé. She brought all of the sexy over with that energy jumping off.

“I look at Jay and he go [laughs]. Nah, he’ll tell you … I said, ‘Yo, alright. Whatever.’ ‘Cause really I’m just saying what’s up. But she’s feeling my energy come over because we do say things about each other — it’s a competitive nature, that’s it!”

Despite reports, they had briefly put their beef — stemming from a power struggle in the early 2000s — to bed, Fif’s latest claims may reignite their long-running rivalry.
