2 Chainz is excited about his upcoming project with Lil Wayne, but has admitted that competing with the New Orleans legend has stressed him out a bit.
The Atlanta rapper recently sat down with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe for an interview where he opened up about having to take his bars to another level to keep up with Wayne — which he said gives him some anxiety.

“I think me and him just have that chemistry,” 2 Chainz of Wayne. “We enjoy working with each other a lot, and it’s a lot of respect there. And as I always say, steel sharpens steel.

After unleashing the lead single “Presha” earlier this month, Wayne and Chainz’ Welcome 2 ColleGrove is set to arrive on November 17. The joint effort boasts 21 tracks in total and will feature Benny The Butcher among a number of others.
The original ColleGrove was released back in 2016 and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 53,000 album-equivalent units earned in the first week.
Last week, Weezy and Tity Boi appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where prior to hitting the stage to perform “Presha,” the duo gushed about their longtime friendship.
“I mean, once we linked up, we were friends from there,” said Weezy, noting they first met at an Atlanta studio. 2 Chainz came across to Wayne as a laid-back guy who graduated from college and hooped.

When asked to elaborate on how the pair began as longtime collaborators, they both appeared to get a little shy. “Uh…Wayne wanted cannabis,” said 2 Chainz, signaling to Fallon he was at one point in time Tunechi’s weed supplier.
“And so every time I would go to Atlanta and I wanted to speak about that one thing [marijuana], I would always call [2 Chainz] to talk about that,” Wayne added.
