With commentary from reputable comedians like Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, Jerry Seinfield, Kevin Hart and Jamie Foxx, the trailer for the upcoming documentary, Dying Laughing, finds the lot recalling periods of their careers when nobody was laughing. Times have obviously changed and all the comedians featured in the film have gone on to have incredible careers, including Rock’s recent $40 million deal for a comedy special with Netflix.
Directors Paul Toogood and Lloyd Stantonsaid in a statement, “Over two years, as the film began to emerge from the thousands of miles traveled and hundreds of hours or interviews, we learned about the physical and emotional dedication that it takes to become a stand-up comedian, and that the prospect of failure haunts even the most experienced and celebrated practitioners. We hope that the audience will find the final piece as touching, thought-provoking, inspirational and as funny as we do.”
