Even when Buddy is just doing regular everyday activities—brushing his teeth, checking himself out in the mirror, eating cereal—the Compton rapper can’t help but “Shine” in his latest visuals. However, it’s not as peaceful outside of his front door. Someone is getting frisked by the police and his rough surroundings seem to be designed to make him fail, but he’s determined to overcome all the negativity.
“Shine” comes from his debut EP, which drops on Pharrell’s i am OTHER imprint in early 2017. Buddy also recently appeared on Cozy Tapes Vol. 1 alongside BJ the Chicago Kid, A$AP Rocky and Wiz Khalifa. He also teamed up with Nipsey Hussle earlier this year, who shows up in the video above.
