HipHopDX Premiere: Kicking it on a yacht as a gold digging woman seduces an older man with deep pockets, Rome Castille begins rapping over a contagious Alvin Isaac beat about what a “shame” it is that material wealth makes a person stoop to such a low level in the video for the Alvin Isaac-produced “DFT$ (Do For The Dough)” with AD.
“DFT$ is a play on some of the things that women will do for money,” Castille tells DX. “You see it pretty often in the music and entertainment industries and the video highlights it. Working with AD on this record was great. He works fast. After hearing the beat to ‘DFT$,’ he was like, ‘This joint is hard’ and within 45 minutes, his verse was finished.”
Managed by NBA player JaVale McGee (Golden State Warriors), Castille is an up and comer from Los Angeles. Expect much more from him in the future and check out the video above.
