Hoping to illuminate and wake up the minds of the oppressed, Black exudes a poetical cadence with strong emotion behind his every word. The 12-track project is meticulously arranged with lively and dense soundscapes, the perfect setup for a longstanding presentation. As “Liberate” kicks off the intensity, we find the fervid emcee taking us back to teach us a history lesson or two, while speaking on the current issues of injustice and inequality. The project wraps up with tracks like “Fearless” and “New Beginnings,” where we find a call to action between his bars; fearless are the people who stand for something.
