If you know Hip-Hop you know that A Tribe Called Quest was and will always be one of the most influential groups to ever bless the game. This review is not about the Tribe. It is about Consequence who was one of the lyrically tightest cats to ever rock with them. Con has appeared on many tracks but some of you young’ns may remember him as an addition to the Tribe on the “Beats Rhymes and Life” CD. Well listen up you non-nurtured hip hop souls…Con is now working closely with Kanye West and he result is simply “So Soulful.” This track is on some old light an inscence and a blunt and kick back and play pool or just kick it type of vibe.

I beg of you listeners not to get it twisted and think that thugness doesn’t live in the hearts of the new wave of over due for fame cats such as Con, Common, Talib, or Mos. On “Wack Niggas” Con, Common, Talib and Kanye all spit some street heat that would make any nigga sweat.

It’s not a game. Nowadays the spotlight still belongs to some of the most undeserving niggas in the game but watch ya back. The next wave is coming upon us fast and deadly and Con is at the forefront of that wave. Now nothing is perfect but then again nothing was meant to be, so the disc does have its flaws but over all the lyrical ability shines through and through. It’s like a guideline to how to be an MC and not a rapper.

One of my personal favorites on the disc is the “03 Till Infinity Freestyle” which is done over the instrumental of the original “93 Till Infinity” by the Souls Of Mischief of Hieroglyphics fame. If you don’t know you better ask some older Hip-Hop associates. This is pure Hip-Hop. Cop this one and learn a thing or two
