You can hate the simple raps you can hate the use of other stars to push sales through the roof, you can hate Sean Combs the arrogant businessman, but no matter how much you hate, you have to admit that P Diddy knows how to make hits. And even if he doesn’t make them all the time, he can pick out a hit just as easily.

Sean Combs does it again. The Bad Boys II Soundtrack is another barrage of radio friendly smash hits. Puff is sure to be eating off this album for the rest of the year. This is without a doubt the hottest Soundtrack that has dropped this year. It fits perfectly with the release of a bangin’ movie sequel that we all waited 8 years to see. The intro track “Show Me Your Soul,” features Lenny Kravitz, Pharrel and Loon and is simply a testimony to all the things that we seem to hate about the rap game at one time or another. Cars, women and jewelry, but it sounds good. Then there’s The Fire joint “La-La-La” by the Jigga man himself. “Shake Ya Tailfeather” with Nelly and The St. Lunatics next star to blow Murphy Lee is sure to keep the clubs hoppin’ till 6 in the morning.

The disc slips momentarily with Beyonce’s “Keep Giving Your Love To Me” but quickly pick up steam again because of course no one can front on one of the hottest cuts of the year, which makes Hip Hop feel like B.I.G. is still here. “Realest Niggas,” featuring 50 Cent, is still a hardcore a street anthem. “Then Flipside” By Mr. Early and Mr. The Mack Go Ring, Freeway and Peedi Crakk, is definitely a summer scorcher. “Gangsta Shit” with Snoop and Loon is not too much heat but its not too much fluff either; it’s just aiight. “Pretty Girl Bullshit” with Foxy Brown and Mario Winans is like a remake of “I Need A Girl Pt 2,” and Foxy just doesn’t sound as stimulating as she did in her younger more ear catching, when she was spittin’ with Jigga days. “Love Don’t Love Me” is pure consistent heat from Pop cultures, ghetto crooning poster boy, Justin Timberlake. “Didn’t Mean” with Mary J. Blige makes us remember how much we missed her and Diddy together and the highlight surprise is from P Diddy’s MTV Band squad, which he named, Da Band. If “Why” is a testament of what’s to come from these newbies then the future looks bright for Puff’s youngest shining stars. And to close off the best Soundtrack of the year P uses the help of probably the most street credible Duo in Rap. M.O.P. featuring, Sheritha Lynch. M.O.P does what they do best on “Wanna Be G’s.” You do the knowledge on this one. So, even if you hate commercial Hip-Hop, cop this one. It will rock a club or a house party for about an hour.
